Sight. I'm a visual learner, so if I see something, I often will remember it. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Cheri, I am too! Thanks so much for stopping by to share your thoughts with us : ) ~ F
DeleteSometimes it's a scent that will bring back memories. Going to a greenhouse in the spring with its array of scents like fresh soil, blooms and foliage; brings back fond memories of my first garden. I miss it still.
ReplyDeleteHi Shirley, That is such a lovely smell! Thanks for reminding me of how pleasant the earth smells : ) ~ F
DeleteSounds are particularly evocative for me. I think that's why I love music so much. Immediately takes me to different places. :)
ReplyDeleteHi E.J., I love music too! Especially when a certain frequency really resonates inside. Great to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by : ) ~ F
DeleteSmells. And sight. I love being at the barn and mucking stalls. The horsey poop makes me want to go on a trail ride. I'm glad for these two memory sparks. They really help me in my writing. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn, One of my very favorite things to do! I loved hearing this : ) Being around the barn with the horses- there's nothing more magical for me! Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts with us! ~ F
DeleteSounds spark my memory. I can't remember faces to save my life, but I recognize voices and identify the person from that. Weird, huh? :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Lexa, It's cool- and rare! I can sometimes remember faces, but usually only singers voices come to mind. Thanks so much for popping over to share your thoughts with us! ~ F
DeleteSometimes, scent or sight...but mostly sound - music. Like that old song "The Song Remembers When" talks about. Hearing a particular piece of music can take me back to an exact moment in time. Great post!
ReplyDeleteHi A Belle's Tale, Definitely music can trip the memory receptors : ) Thanks so much for stopping by! ~ F
DeleteFor me it can be a number of things a sight, sound or taste. Sometimes I'll get the taste for something and it will remind of some moment from when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteCricket- It is amazing how our senses can bring back so many memories. :) ~L
DeleteA song usually reminds me of a person, a place, or a time. Also a picture (sight) brings back memories of somehing I did as a child or with my children or friends.
ReplyDeleteHi Beverly, Isn't that so much fun- when you get lost in a memory... Great to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts with us : ) ~ F
DeleteSmells. Channel Number Five reminds me of my sister (she always wears it!) The smell of Dahlias returns me to my mum's garden, and liquorice takes me all the way back to a little old sweet shop that sold penny sweets.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, I loved hearing all of these- I feel like I can smell all of your descriptions : ) ~ F
DeleteWell, not much, to be honest :) But some smells. Well, sometimes :D Get mostly a deja-vu feeling when I smell something I have smelled before. It's kind of awesome :)
ReplyDelete<3
Hi Carina, Cool! Thank sounds interesting : ) Thanks so much for stopping by to share your thoughts with us! It's always lovely to hear from you. ~ F
DeleteIt can be anything really - something I've seen, something I've heard or, though less likely, something I've smelt.
ReplyDeleteHi Petty, Excellent! Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts with us : ) ~ F
DeleteFor me...it's smells...baking bread...cut lemons...chocolate chip cookies!
ReplyDeleteHi Patty, Sounds delicious! : ) ~ F
DeleteSmells and music, especially. I don't know how slow, bright mornings always carry a smell that reminds me of childhood.
ReplyDeleteHi Claudine, I love the smell of the morning in the spring with the dew. Lovely to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts with us : ) ~ F
DeleteIn my case it's smells and music, too. They can bring back memories and feelings. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Petra, Excellent! Thanks so much for stopping by to share your thoughts with us : ) ~ F
DeleteI think it will usually be a smell. Like when there is this misty scent (most likely from a candle) I can't help but think of Disney Land. That might sound weird but you know those log rides where they drop you from high up? Well the water and the mist have this distinctive smell that make me think of Disney as a whole. Anything beachy smell makes me think of the beach of course. Probably my favorite place in the world <3
ReplyDeleteAdriana- I love how you explained about how and why the misty scent makes you think about Disney Land! Smells can really bring my back. :) ~L
