What Fairday's Blog! is all about...
Fairday's Riddles are posted on Mondays- they can be written about anything and everything, all at the same time!
Lizzy's Book Reviews are posted on Wednesdays. Lizzy has read just about every middle grade novel out there, and she loves to share her thoughts and, of course, her opinions.
The Top of the Heap is a post we put up on Thursdays. We thought it would be fun once a week to put up two things that we appreciate and have been thinking about during the week.
Margo's Musings Fridays belong to Margo, Fairday's little sister. This post focuses on reviewing local children's book authors, which we follow up with an Author Interview.
The DMS Wants to Know was a post we came up with for Saturdays because when we get together to hang out on the weekend, we always chat about different situations and ideas that are floating around in our brains and we like to listen to what other people think about them- some of the comments we've gotten have been absolutely fascinating!

ReplyDeleteGetting upset since I got a C in penmanship...Things haven't changed, I have terrible handwriting
My first (most vivid) memory is being dragged from my bed during a house fire. I was very young - probably only about two or three, but I can still remember the sound of the wooden beams crackling and spitting and the smell of the smoke. I’ve always been terrified of fire, and I think this memory is the reason why.

ReplyDeleteThe very first thing I remembered was when I walked through my living room, I looked at the calender next to the dinner table, saw the number 3 as the 3rd day of the month, and then I said to my sister/mom, "Look, 3! Just like my age."
The first thing I can remember is getting up for my first day of pre school and being so excited standing with my dad waiting for my lil bus to come. I still remember my teachers name Mrs. Moore and what we did that day, We introduced ourselves, played games, ate gramcrackers, jello and chocolate milk, took a nap, started to learn ABC's and then I played on the playground til my parents came. I think back now and I'm like "WOW I can remember that first day in pretty much full detail but can't really remember any of the other days there."

ReplyDeleteThe first thing I remember is a family vacation when I was 1. Not many people believe me, but I clearly remember holding onto my dad's hands and trying to walk up what seemed like this huuuuuge hill. I'm sure it really wasn't that big, but to my little baby legs it was!

ReplyDeleteI think the very first thing I remember is when I was about 3 I tried to cut a fruit (for some reason I always thought it was an orange, but my parents say it was an apple, and oranges were a very rare sight at our home in my childhood) and the knife slipped and I cut my finger. There wasn't much pain, but I probably remember this because it was a shock to me back then. I still can see the scar on my finger and it reminds me a lesson to use the knife with care:)

For some reason I can remember waaaay back into my childhood. I was sitting in a highchair eating breakfast and my grandmother was taking care of me and she always turned on the radio in the mornings and the announcer said that the president had been shot. That was 1963 and I was born in 1961 I remember a lot of things way back like that. Not being told about it but a real memory. ReplyDeleteMy first think that I remember is way back, when I was 2 and my wardrobe fall over me. It was quite terrifying. I still have one little scar on my face.
One of my first memories is that of a very young child playing in the garden with my "tigey tuck" - a stuffed animal, almost as big as me, that looked like a cross between a lion and a tiger with stripes and a mane. I loved the garden swing and that stuffed toy and kept him until I had kids of my own, until no amount of mending would keep his stuffing inside anymore.
