The DMS Wants to Know!

Monday's Riddle set our course, and we followed the directions on the map. Fairday reviewed the swashbuckling new middle grade novel The Mapmaker's Sons by V. L. Burgess, and on Top of the Heap, we shared a couple of our favorite maps with you. Friday, we were excited to learn a little more about author C. Lee Mckenzie and the story behind her exiting new story Alligators Overhead. Plus, from Sept. 1st- 7th, Fairday's Blog! is participating in the Back to Books Giveaway Hop. Enter for your chance to win a $25 Gift Card to Amazon.com, as well as a signed, hardcover edition of the mysterious middle grade novel, The Secret DMS Files of Fairday Morrow by J. Haight & S. Robinson. We pointed the way all week long. Today, it's your turn to set the sails...

The DMS wants to know: If you had a magical map, where would it take you? What powers would it possess?

We told you ours, now let's hear yours!

  1. It would take me through a secret path or portal to a magical place where their is a mansion and in that mansion is the GREATEST BOOK COLLECTION EVER! With some weird characters in them or even fictional characters around that I can hang out with... I sound a little bit crazy... :P

    1. Hi Adriana, Sounds amazing! Actually, your map reminds me a little of the Begonia House- lol! The next story is entitled The Talking Library- so, fear not the unexpected! ~ F

  2. Love Adriana's answer!! I want to go where she's going lol

Besides that, though ... hmmm ... (Jess, why is it that you always make me put on my thinking cap? lol) ...

Okay, MY map would take me back in time to the Great Library of Alexandria, before idiots set it on fire and burned all those lovely ancient manuscripts to bits of charcoal!

Can you imagine the WEALTH of historical information that was lost to man FOREVER?! Oh, I would love to be able to spend a lifetime reading and pouring over all those ancient documents (with a magical translator, of course! hehe) ;D

  4. Where, where, indeed ... perhaps to ancient China, where there were swordsmen and swordswomen. I'd like to know if they could really fly and defeat villains after skills meditation in a cave.

    1. Hi Claudine, I would love to meditate in a cave, once I got past the curiosity of actually being in a cave, that is- lol I still think I can fly- I just can't remember how to in real life. I soar about in my dreams just fine! Always lovely to hear from you : ) ~ F

  5. Magical map.... I think I'd like to use that map to travel to the future - where everyone travels on jetpacks and there'd be a dystopian society of which I could be the hero and savior! I'd be the protagonist of my very own dystopian novel :D

Also, it would possess the power to show and erase itself on command, like in Harry Potter!

  12. My magic map would give me the opportunity to go back in time. I would love to see my mum and dad as children, teenagers and then grown up, before they had my brother, sister and I. They were already in their 40s when I came along – so I only knew them as grumpy parents! They look so carefree in their wedding photos - I would love to go to their wedding! Can you arrange it for me??

    1. Hi Barbara, That would be amazing! I love looking at old pictures of my family. When I see pictures of my grandmother, it's so hard to imagine her as anything other than my warm, lovely grandmother- but she looks like a little firecracker when she was a teenager.
