Have you ever been frustrated by a brother or sister and wanted to get rid of them for a little while? If so, you will be able to relate to Flora’s annoyance with her little brother, Crispin. He made a huge mess with her paints and now they have to go outside so their mom can clean up. But it is cold and windy out, and Flora is worried they will blow away. Luckily, she has super-special heavy-duty red boots, but her brother doesn’t. When he gets picked up by a gust of wind it is up to her to save him. Should Flora give her brother up to the clouds or the birds who want him to help them? Is a rainbow a better fit for Crispin who loves to paint? What should she do with him? Reading this books makes you realize that sometimes when we get what we wished for it makes what we truly want clearer than ever. Like Margo, you'll love with this book. I like the message within the words of the story; we love our siblings more than we know! I would recommend this book to kids, book lovers, and fans of fall of all ages.
Happy reading! ~ F

Sounds wonderful. A book I'm sure just about every brother/sister will relate to as how many of us haven't wanted to get rid of our sibling(s) if only for the shortest of time?

It sounds absolutely lovely. There were books in my childhood that I read (or were read to me) again and again and they are a part of me still.

I had a little sister and a younger stepsister...as I became a teenager, I did lose patience with them, but I don't think it's quite the same as having a little brother!
ReplyDeleteStephanie- It is funny how little siblings can be trying at times. I guess they each come with their own set of traits (some annoying, some not). :) ~F

ReplyDeleteOlivia-Savannah, It was a new idea for me too. The story was sweet and the pictures are perfect for fall. :) ~F
