Monday's Riddle: Elder Magic...

Hello Riddlers! Here's the puzzle. Can you guess our theme this week? This person taught me about nature and inspired me with her art. ; ) ~ F

I'm an elder in the clan. I'm not called great, but sometimes gran. I'll bring you cookies, wisdom, and stories; help you plant roses and morning glories. I'll play with you like you're my own; look forward to hearing your voice on the phone. Your little ways and silly faces bring youth to my heart in so many places. I've raised my own and know what's best. For, I've been tried and put to the test. Now, it's my turn to enjoy childish antics. I'll give you my words and not worry about semantics. Mostly, I'll help you learn about life- teach you lessons of both joy and strife. I'm your friend, though I'm related, and it's my pleasure to keep you perfectly sated.

Who am I?

I gave you a clue!

A grandmother! =D Or to be more exclusive, a grandparent. ;-)

I'm not sure what that has to do with the clue, but you'll probably explain in your next post.

  2. It has to be Grandmother - doesn't it? But then again, maybe not - the bird has me wondering.

  3. Love the Cardinal. We usually have a pair of them around our house. (Maybe we'll see them again, if this snow ever stops.)

  4. I'm going with a grandparent, though I'm going to agree that I'm a bit thrown by the pretty Cardinal, so I have no idea if I'm right :)

  7. It's the best job I've ever had -- grandparent. I do love birds, so the cardinal picture is nice.

  8. Hmm, a bit confused by the bird but I'm going to go along with the rest and say grandmother.

  9. Aha. Having Googled this particular bird I learn that though it eats fruits and insects it is mainly GRANivorous. I wonder if that is the connection?
