Monday's Riddle: A Shiver Inside


Hello Riddlers! Can you guess our theme this week? This is the perfect season for this rhyme. ; ) ~ F

I'm the jitters that creep in the dark. I live with you, naked and stark. Even when your eyes are shut, you'll feel what's happening in your gut. I'll tell you it's real- the horror and show. I'll cast you right in it, and you'll never know. But, alas, I'm nothing. I exist with no matter- just a shaking shiver that balloons ever fatter. It's fun when you let me have my way, and I dip my twisted fingers into your day. Though, after awhile, when the thrill gets old, I'll leave behind only a story to hold. 

 What am I?

I gave you a clue!

    Crud, I have no idea! A ghost maybe? Or hunger (from the "fatter" line, lol!). Honestly stumped!

    Some kind of spirit? I'm guessing a ghost or because of the words 'It's fun when you let me have my way' a poltergeist.
