Holiday Tales! The Nightmare Before Christmas...

The Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton is something I look forward to watching every holiday season. I have never read the actual book, but the movie is absolutely fantastic. The artwork is amazing and the story is utterly unique.

Jack Skellington is the ruler of Halloween Town. In this place, Halloween is crafted by the ghoulish makers of this spirited holiday. Jack loves his town and loves his job, but something's missing. One day, he stumbles upon four doors in the center of the woods. Curious, he enters through one and finds himself thrust into Christmas Town. He can't believe his empty sockets! The colors, the lights, the elves toiling away at their toy making, Sandy Claws. Wait. Sandy Claws, who can that be! What does it all mean? Jack takes what he's learned back to Halloween Town to try to figure out what the spirit of Christmas actually is. Then, Eureka! A light bulb goes off in his skull, and he knows what he must do. He takes his plan to the monsters of Halloween Town and prepares them to take over Christmas. When Jack sends off Oogie Boogie's thugs to capture Sandy Claws, a friend has a terrible premonition about Jack's intentions for Christmas. Will Jack Skellington be able to pull it off? What will happen to Santa (Sandy Claws) when Boogie's cronies snatch him away on Christmas Eve? Will Halloween really take over Christmas? Find out in this spooky holiday spectacular!

We would love to hear about your holiday favorites during this festive season!

  2. I love this movie. I'm pretty sure I've seen it more during Halloween than Christmas though. Not sure why they do that. They being the TV people. I really like the Grinch, too. That's a fun one. I love the Grinch, even before he turns nice.

  4. I love this animation. Was very impressed with the details Tim Burton came up with. And at that time when Technology wasn't that advanced, he managed to portray everything so deftly. Jack Skellington was an unusual hero. And I liked the raggedy doll, too. The mayor was quite a character as well!
