Can You Undo Time?

Gib Finney is a regular guy who can’t wait to go to the town carnival with his best friend, Ash. Unfortunately, after a spitball incident in school his plan beings to unravel and he has to take his little sister, Roxy, to the carnival. Gib is angry and annoyed because now he will never get to go on the fun rides. He stalks off and takes a walk in the woods that just might change his life forever. There he meets an old man and encounters a device called the Unner. This stranger explains that with the Unner you can undo time, but he doesn’t have time to explain how it works before he disappears. Gib is excited, but doubtful of the Unner’s power. When he loses it in the woods he is worried, but when tragedy strikes he knows he must find it and try to figureout how it works. Will Gib be able to find the Unner? Does the Unner really undo time? Read this action packed nail biter of a book to find out!

I recommend The Power of Un by Nancy Etchemendy to kids between 4th and 8th grade who like science fiction. Gib is someone that everyone can imagine being friends with. He is nice, funny, and sometimes annoyed with his sister. The story keeps you guessing and there is so much to think about that you will not want to stop reading. I actually brought the book with me to a restaurant and read the ending because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. This book should NOT be missed!

Has anyone else read The Power of Un? What did you think?

Happy reading!

  5. Even though this is a Middle grade book, it sounds pretty good. I haven't heard of it , but I'd check it out. I still recall some of my favorite Middle grade stories and try to collect them. Interesting choice! Thanks for paying me a visit today :-)
