Answer to Monday's Riddle! Creeping from the Corners

Great guessing Riddlers! This week the spiders will be creeping out from the dark corners and scuttling into the light. Lizzy's review will be unsettling, and Friday, Margo has a spooky story to share with you. There's still time to enter the Spooktacular Giveaway Hop for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate to The Edward Gorey Store- giveaway ends on Halloween. Over the weekend, we always love to hear from you on The DMS Wants to Know!

Scuttling out from the dark, I'll seek you out for a lark. I've lots of eyes to find my way, and lanky legs that stick and stay. I crawl right up and stare at you, watching carefully what you'll do. Most will scream, some will run, whatever happens, it's always fun. I don't know why you think I'm so scary- I didn't ask to be this hairy. After all, I can come in handy- I eat buzzing things just like they're candy. Also, I'm lucky- just ask Anasi. I've been called clever, tricky, and I'm known to be sassy. But, alas, when asked what frightens you most, I was called out even more than a ghost.

What am I? Answer: A Spider!

One of our favorite spidery tales..

  1. Woot! Got it :) And that giant one looks like the spider hubby caught in his office this morning. He asked if he could keep it...

  2. I must confess, I almost clicked away the moment that giant spider appeared on my screen. *shivers* Since they're good guys, I never kill them, but I'd much rather they stay outside.

  3. Not overly scared of spiders, I leave that to my husband - all 6 foot three of him - I have to admit that middle illustration did have me shivering just a tiny bit.
