Monday's Riddle was a sweet treat, and
Lizzy's review of
Gingersnap by Patricia Reilly Giff took us into a unique bakery. Thursday on
Top of the Heap, we told you about two tantalizing bites we'd like to try, and Friday, the
Character Book Club met over at our friend
Beverly's blog. Today, we want to hear from you!
The DMS wants to know:
What is your favorite treat from the bakery?
We told you ours. Now, let's hear yours!
Umm, pretty much anything! :) But, seeing as how I've said this way too many times this week and still haven't gotten one--a bear claw :)
ReplyDeleteMeradeth- Bear claws are SO good! :) ~L
DeleteLike Meradeth, I'm not picky :-)
ReplyDeleteBut I really like chocolate eclairs, and chocolate covered donuts with cream inside. I'm hungry now...
F.T.- Yes! This sound SO good. I love eclairs and anything with chocolate. :) ~L
DeleteAny way you spell it donuts or doughnuts or doh! nuts!, my alleged human likes them, especially the ones with the jam in the middle.
ReplyDeletePawsitive wishes,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! :)
Penny- Sounds good. I hope you get some soon! :) ~L
DeleteOooooh now I want a donut! Hmm, I'm not too picky, but I do prefer the sweet stuff over the savoury.
ReplyDeleteToni- Sweet stuff is just so delicious. ;) ~L
DeleteI look just like Homer when I tuck into the smell and taste of fresh bread from the bakery, yummy yummy yummy
ReplyDeleteTerence- Fresh bread? Such an amazing scent! :) ~L
DeleteOhh, I love donuts. <3
ReplyDeleteCarina- Yum! :) ~L
DeleteActually a bagel, New York Deli style.
ReplyDeleteAlex- NY bagels are the best! :) ~L
DeleteA box of assorted cookies from Glaser's on First Avenue, NYC - Yum!
ReplyDeleteAlex- I haven't been there- yet. I love that you shouted out to a favorite place. Yeah! :) ~L
DeleteI like the single, multi-layered cakes at Whole Foods. One of the is chocolate truffle marquise.
ReplyDeleteMedeia- I haven't tried one yet- but I will have to try one soon! :) ~L
DeleteI do love doughnuts, but especially the jelly filled ones!
ReplyDeletePaul R. Hewlett
Paul- I can see why you love them! :) ~L
DeleteWhy do you want to make me hungry!? That doughnut is enticing. I've never seen one that looks exactly like the one Homer eats. I have a thing now for red velvet cake - I don't care if it's a small slice from a bakery or a huge cake from Costco. It is heaven... I also love cheese pastelitos - YUM!
ReplyDeleteAdriana- Sorry we made you hungry. :) Red velvet cake is addicting. It is so yummy! I have never had a pastelito. I will have to try one! :) ~L
DeleteCroissants, danishes and doughnuts! Now I need to visit a bakery!
ReplyDeleteNas- Love, love, and love! :) ~L
DeleteThere are so many! How can I choose? I worked at a bakery part time when I was in college and I loved it. Nothing smells as good as fresh baking! :-)
ReplyDeleteLexa- Fresh baking does smell delicious. Working in a bakery must have been so interesting! :) ~L

ReplyDeleteI'm happy with nearly any type of bread as long as I have something good to spread on it. =) I recently read about someone using coconut oil instead of butter on her breakfast toast, and I'd like to try that, too!
Enbrethiliel- I love bread, too. I have never had coconut oil- but I plan to try it! Thanks for the idea. :) ~L
DeleteGrowing up, my parents would take me to the bakery and I always got an elephant ear. I think they may have another name but they are shaped like elephant ears and they are light and fluffy pastry with a light coating of sugar on top. So yummy.
ReplyDeleteKelly- I know what you are talking about! Where I live it is called elephant ears or fried dough with sugar. SO YUMMY! :) ~L
DeleteI can't resist an apple fritter or a cream cheese kolache.
ReplyDeleteAnna Maria- I love apple fritters. I have never had a cheese kolache. I will have to look into trying one! :) ~L
DeleteOh you must try a cream cheese kolache...my grandmother taught me how to make them and they are Maggie's favorite also...I have to bake them for her when she gets the craving. :D
DeleteAnna- I hope to try them soon. I think it is so special that you make them for Maggie. :) ~L
DeleteI LOVE Cheesecake, muffins, scones, and doughnuts! :D
ReplyDeleteErik- Cheesecake is one of my favorite things! :) ~L
DeleteMy fav treat, whether I make it or get it at a bakery is always gingerbread. Love that warming taste.
