This week's top of the heap: Best Familiars : )
Fairday: Definitely a dragon. I absolutely love the movie How to Train Your Dragon. Hiccup's unique story is fascinating and it was great to see how he used his natural ability to train a feared dragon known as a Night Fury. Toothless turns out to be quite a character. Together, they form a bond that not only saves a village, but brings two very different worlds together.
Seriously, what could be cooler than having a dragon for a pet? ~ F
Lizzy: There are so many wonderful familiars out there-beings that really connect to humans. It was tough to pick my favorite, but I am going to have to go with Hedwig, Harry Potter's snowy owl. Hedwig was such a great companion to Harry and kept him company at the dreaded Dursley’s. Harry was also able to use her to communicate messages to Sirius Black and others in times of need. They had such a strong relationship, and Hedwig could tell when Harry needed her. That’s what friends are for! ~ L
I'd take Toothless as my familiar!
ReplyDeleteAlex- Toothless is just so great! ~F
DeleteThe grandboys watch How to Train Your Dragon at least once a week! I love that movie too, and The Neverending Story. Excellent dragons, and a great lesson in learning about what you don't understand to overcome your fears.
ReplyDeleteHi Cate, I've watched it about ten times- love it! Great story and a great lesson : ) Thanks for stopping by! ~ F
DeleteI forgot how young they all were in those first movies. My cats would love for me to get a bird.
ReplyDeleteHi M.Pax, Weren't they, though? It's weird sometimes to watch them back to back. The cats want you to get the bird for them- lol! Great to hear from you : ) ~ F
DeleteToothless reminds me of my dog, so I own that movie and have seen it repeatedly!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, I cracked up when I read this- I can completely picture it- he also looks just like my cat, Bill- to a "T" ~ Jess

ReplyDeleteHis little smirk in the tribute is so cute! I want to watch the movie now...
Hi Adriana, So funny, I have never read the book, just saw the movie- and loved it! This is a rare story then, not very often do you see a movie that outshines the book. Always lovely to hear from you : ) ~ F
