You Be the Witness...

Something different, just for fun!

Perception is everything when you're the witness. What will you see? What does everyone else see? It's always interesting to find out how others perceive the scene.

Today, we thought it would be fun to hear what you believe is going on at this mysterious party. What do you think you are witnessing? (brought to you by the master of mystery, Edward Gorey)

  1. That blond on the stairs with the chains in her hair, and almost holding up her dress, is fussing about the scared delivery guy in the window because he didn't deliver the rest of the party decorations like he promised...only a ladder and a vase to play a fun game the lady with the tasseled train going up the stairs wanted to play...you know, the old Ladder-Vase dressy party game. :)

  4. Love the details in the pics! The guests have no idea the house's owner has lost all his money and only keeps the main room furnished. If he can't pilfer a few fine objects fom his guests, he's going to have sell his precious giant vase! :)

  5. The 1st pictures seems as though the guests attention is drawn to something, whether it is an entrance of an individual or a unintended interruption I'm not sure. The 2nd is odd, the way the shadow of the ladder falls at what appears to be an opposite direction of the wallpaper is jarring and feels wrong. It also strikes me that the light would have to be coming at a weird angle to cast that kind of shadow. The 3rd seems to be a ghost or person levitating outside the window (makes me think of Salem's Lot). The 4th is a large vase with conflicting patter to the wallpaper. Correction, Very large vase. What fun! Thanks for posting.

  6. In the first image they are all looking up at an honored guest or the special guest who's birthday it is. The second image is just a ladder positioned next to a wall. The third image is a ghost looking inside a house or someone using that ladder from the second image and looking inside the house while they hang up lights. The fourth image is a vase painted to look like it's camouflaged into the wall.

  7. What awesome pictures! Hmm, for the first one with all the dressed up people, I'd say they're all turning to look at someone who just slipped and fell :)

  8. It's simply this...everyone is watching someone climbing up that ladder to look into the townhouse next door! But the person in that townhouse s hiding behind that huge vase...or maybe even inside of it!

  9. I'm not sure the guests are all looking at the same thing. It could be a distraction. With the ladder in an empty room, the thief must have escaped. Maybe that's who's looking in the window for the one thing left on the floor. Maybe it's a golden ticket, the most valuable item. Or maybe that person is waiting for the accomplice who's hiding in the vase to pick up that last item, which might be a clue left behind by accident. What if the thief dropped a business card and that's the homeowner outside?
