Monday's Riddle put a little swing into the week, and the storm played on in Lizzy's review of St. Louis Armstrong Beach by Brenda Woods. Today, we want to hear from you!
The DMS wants to know:
What is your favorite instrument? Do you play?
We'd love to hear your thoughts! ~ DMS

Beyond the triangle and glockenspiel which I played (and I use the term loosely) at school I don't play any instrument but I'd love to play the drums. All that banging, I can imagine its a great stress reliever.
ReplyDeleteTracy- I imagine the drums to be a great stress reliever too! :) ~L
DeleteI took piano lessons for 11 years growing up but no longer own a piano. I do have a keyboard I play occasionally but I'm rusty and it doesn't have the feel of a regular piano for me. I did play the clarinet for awhile in junior high but chewed up so many costly reeds I switched to a trombone. I found a beautiful old Hohner harmonica at a garage sale I had refurbished some years back and do love to play it.
ReplyDeleteAnna- Look at you! You have tried your hand at a few instruments. Awesome! The harmonica sounds like lots of fun. :) ~L
DeleteI would love to play the piano, but I don't have a musical bone in my body! Have a great weekend x
ReplyDeleteBarbara- I have always wanted to play the piano too! :) ~L
DeleteA long, long time ago, I played piano a little, and, for a very short time, clarinet. My daughter plays a lot of instruments, but I especially love to listen to her playing piano. I never get tired of that.
ReplyDeleteRosi- How wonderful that your daughter can play the piano. I would love to listen to someone play. :) ~L
DeleteI played the French horn up into college, but honestly I always hated it! I'm not musical in any way shape or form :) But I do love the sound of the piano and violin!
ReplyDeleteMeradeth- Wow! You played for a long time! Sorry you didn't enjoy it more. I agree with you that listening to the piano and violin is just wonderful. :) ~L
DeleteThe sound of a good horn gives me goose bumps. Sadly, I don't play.
ReplyDeleteJoylene- I am always impressed by the horns~ :) ~L
DeleteGood question! I've not really thought about which one is my favorite. I took piano and flute lessons when I was in elementary school, but of the two, I prefer the piano. I also enjoy listening to the violin.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Karen- How great that you learned two instruments. I have always wanted to learn to play the piano. :) ~L
DeleteWow! I'm a music teacher so I'm not even exaggerating when I say I love all of them. I really wish I knew how to play the bass clarinet. Maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteThe Armchair Squid- I am sure you do love them all! It must be fun to be surrounded by music all the time. :) The bass clarinet is definitely super cool. ~L
DeleteI play a trumpet. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Erik! :) ~L
DeleteI have always loved the piano! In fourth grade I mastered the flutophone!
ReplyDeletePatty- I have to look up the flutophone- it sounds fun. :) ~L
DeleteMy favorite is the violin. I have played the piano, recorder, and guitar, but my short fingers make it hard to play quite a few instruments very well.
ReplyDeleteCherie- Although you mentioned your short fingers- I think it is awesome that you tried so many instruments! :) ~L
DeleteI used to play the violin. Well, a long time ago I did. I can't imagine playing it now, but I've always loved the sounds that instrument makes under the fingers and bow of someone who know how to play it,
ReplyDeleteLee- I agree with you about the violin. Those that know how to play really make it sounds magical. :) ~L
DeleteI played the piano growing up. I still have my piano, but I don't play much anymore. I'm hoping my daughter takes lessons soon though.
ReplyDeleteKelly- How cool that you took that piano growing up. If your daughter takes it too, you could play songs together. :) ~L
DeleteNo instruments for me. The piano is nice.
ReplyDeleteVanessa- Yes, it is! :) ~L
DeletePiano! Love the sound it makes. And guitar. My son is a musician. He can play anything with strings. My daughter plays the violin, guitar, and mandolin. So music has always been big here on the farm.
ReplyDeleteRobyn- Sounds like the farm must be lots of fun! Love all the different instruments your family can play! WOW! :) ~L
DeleteUnfortunately, I don't play an instrument, but I love fiddle music!
ReplyDeleteJanet- Music in any form is wonderful. :) ~L
