We mixed up Monday's Riddle for April Fool's Day, and Lizzy chimed in to give you a clue for our theme this week with her review of the audio book The Deliverers: Sharky and Jewel by Gregory Slomba. Friday, Jimm Singer, the narrator of this middle grade adventure will be stopping by to tell us about his experience being a storyteller, and Saturday, we can't wait to hear from you on The DMS Wants to Know. Today, we thought would be the perfect opportunity to tell you about our favorite person to listen to...
This week's top of the heap: Awesome audio book narrators!
Fairday & Lizzy: It doesn't get much better than Jim Dale reading Harry Potter. If you have not experienced this aspect of the Potter series, you are missing out!
Jim Dale does an amazing job reading, keeping over 100 character voices consistent and colorful throughout the story. We have listened to each book too many times to count, and every time it's excellent!
So, if you've read the books, seen the movies, played the games, and still want more... listen to Harry Potter read by Jim Dale. It's a bonus HP experience that will bring you right into the magical world of Harry Potter again and again!

* Warning! Jim Dale does such an extraordinary job, you will become an extremely picky audio listener- lol! (We are! : )

I haven't listened to many audio books, but you've convinced me I should try this out!
ReplyDeleteMeradeth- Audio books are definitely a great way to enjoy a story. :) ~L
DeleteI admit that instead of buying audio books, I just let my Kindle read to me. The mechanical voice is funny but you get used to it.
ReplyDeleteKelly- I haven't tried listening to a book that way- but I can see times when that would come in handy. :) ~L
DeleteThat is so cool! Doing voice-overs is a talent all in itself, and for Mr. Dale to do over 100 is amazing! :-)
ReplyDeleteLexa- I completely agree! :) ~L
Deletethanks for this idea!
ReplyDeleteAnnmarie- You are welcome! :) ~L
DeleteI half heartedly played the clip thinking I could not possibly like it as much as the book/film but I loved it. Amazing, I’m going to start a Christmas wish list right now and put these at the top!
ReplyDeleteBarbara- I am so glad you enjoyed the clip more than you were anticipating! Jim Dale is just AMAZING! HP on audio is a great addition to a Christmas list. :) ~L
DeleteI really have never listened to a book...ever...I think I should!
ReplyDeletePatty- I bet it would be fun for you when you are cooking. I wonder how Lucy and Roxie would react to the audio books. :) ~L
DeleteJim Dale is responsible for getting me hooked on audiobooks. My kids and I listened to every one of his Harry Potter performances several times. They've also sparked reluctant readers in my classroom to pick up a Potter book.
ReplyDeleteLelie- He is out of this world! I listen to the HP audio books over and over again. How awesome that he has sparked reluctant readers in your classroom to read HP. I love that! :) ~L
DeleteHeidi- I don't think I have listened to anything by Luke or Lorelei- but I will have to check them out. Thanks! :) ~L
ReplyDeleteHow would it be to be able to record a story as well as this.
ReplyDeleteDonna- I imagine it would be amazing! :) ~L
