Monday's Riddle kicked off a week of kindness, and Lizzy's review of Charlotte's Web by E.B. White reminded how much we depend on the thoughtfulness of others. Thursday, on Top of the Heap we spotlighted two inspirational acts of kindness that showed us what miraculous things people can accomplish when they set their minds to it. Friday, we look took a stroll down memory lane with Corduroy, and today we can’t wait to hear what you have to say!
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. ~Aesop
The DMS wants to know:
What's a kind act you hope to pay forward this year?
We will tell you ours, if you tell us yours! : )

I remember when my children were small and I would help a stranger, they would ask "do you that person, Mommy?" I of course was sending them mixed messages by telling them not to talk to strangers. And as they get older, they continue to see me help strangers, and they have been doing the same for some time. I hope that they never lose faith in humanity so much that they are not willing. That's how I will pay it forward.
ReplyDeleteHi Angela, It's always good to remember to help out strangers- safely, of course- but, compassion is something we all share- and it's best to remember that we are all the same- a little kindness goes a long way! Great to hear from you : ) ~ F
DeleteI want to pay for the person behind me in a drive through line...or Starbucks...or I want to do what my husband does...when he sees a soldier in a food line at the airport he pays for his items.
ReplyDeleteHi Patty, I love doing this- it's fun to think of the joy you are spreading. I have done it a few times, but have never had it done back- which is just fine ; ) ~ Jess
DeleteI love to let other drivers into the line when I'm in traffic. It's small, but the people I let in are always appreciative. Trying to fight your way into a line can be a pain if people won't let you in.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, It's not small- it's one of the best things you can do. I am a pretty zen driver- I see no reason for all the rushing around and getting in front of people. Driving can be very enjoyable if you drive without anger : ) I truly appreciate those out there that are considerate and driving with care and love! ~ Jess
DeleteI think it's lovely to focus on acts of kindness. This makes me think my new MC should be less snarky and more kind. Thanks for reminding me of the power of being "good." :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Lexa, First of all, I love the word snarky- and I enjoy these characters as well : ) The ability to be kind and recognize kindness is one of the greatest things that we all share as human beings! Thanks so much for stopping by to share your thoughts with us : ) ~ F
DeleteI want to help inspire others. I know it's a bit vague, but what I mean is. As I have begun writing and blogging the support and kindness I have been on the receiving end of is mind boggling. I want to pay it forward.

Hi Lionel, That is a wonderful thing to do- but remember, always be yourself- that's the most inspirational thing that there is : ) ~ F
DeleteI'm a great believer that sending positive energy out even in small acts of kindness helps not just the person you aim it at, but makes the world better for everyone. It's contagious and inspires others to "pay it forward" - at least I like to think so. Opportunities present themselves every day. You just have to be open to them.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lexa - I like snarky characters! Fictional people can get away with it, especially if they have a "save the cat" moment. :)
Hi Cate, Thanks so much for stopping by to share your thoughts with us! It's always good to remember to be kinder than necessary- and a little kindness directed towards your world can't hurt! Lovely to hear from you : ) ~ F
DeleteThat is exactly what my post is about on Wednesday next week. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ciara, Cool! Spread the love ✌ ~ F
DeleteThere are so many and so many wonderful friends and people. I guess it was the patience and support my family gave me last year while I published my book. I plan this year to give family more attention, love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, That sounds like a wonderful plan! Thanks so much for stopping by- it's always lovely to hear from you : ) ~ F
DeleteI can’t believe how many good things I’ve missed while I’ve been away! It will take me some time to read everything, but I will do it.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many kind and loving people in my life I just want to try to be like them.
Now to continue reading!
Happy New Year.
PS Corduroy, a beautiful book and one of my all time favourites.
Hi Barbara, Nice to see you! I hope you're Hols were lovely : ) Happy New Year! ~ F & L
DeleteI'm not sure. I hadn't really thought about it. I guess the biggest thing I can do is to help my mother out when she needs it.
ReplyDeleteHi Adriana, That sounds really nice! I sure she will appreciate it! Thanks so much for stopping by to visit with us : ) ~ F
DeleteWell.. I'm not sure, actually. I might try not arguing with my mother all the time.. although it is mostly her fault (A) But yeah. I'll be trying to do less arguing :) Think things will be a lot better when I get my cat in April. <3 So maybe that will be my act of kindness. Having lots of love to my new cat. Hih :)
