This past Saturday, we popped over to the pet store so my mom could fight with Margo about the bunnies again, and we ran into a really nice lady who started chatting with my dad. The topic of discussion turned to President's Day. It turned out that she had co-authored a children's book about a golden retriever named Dubs, who follows his runaway ball through the historical monuments of Washington, D.C. My dad, being a big fan of President Lincoln, was thrilled when she gave us a copy of
Dubs Goes To Washington And Discovers The Greatness of America by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann. It was an instant hit with Margo. The illustrations were adorable, and now all she wants is a dog : )
The DMS was lucky enough to interview the authors of this spunky, doggy tale- be sure to check back next Friday (Feb. 17) to find out how Dubs story came about. So, here's to Dubs the golden retriever! Keep chasing after that ball, who knows where it will lead next! ~ F
