The DMS Wants to Know!

This week we have walked the twisting, magical path of fairy tales. I have always loved reading these imaginative stories and it was fun to write Monday's Riddle, and for Lizzy and I to put together Top of the Heap. It was great to think about our favorite tales and share them with all of you. Lizzy reviewed The Fairy Tale Detectives: The Sisters Grimm: Book 1 by Michael Buckley, which was a wonderfully unique book. Today, we want to hear from you!

The DMS wants to know: What is your favorite fairy tale?

We told you ours, let's hear yours!

  1. I love the darkness of fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood and Beauty and the Beast. Tragic stories always suck me in!

  5. I'm kind of partial to Rumplestiltskin, but Snow White always was fun with those 7 companions, each distinctive.

  6. Greetings! Wonderful blog, by the way. :)

As a child, my favorite fairy tale was always "Snow White". I adored the beauty and magic of the story, as well as the dynamic characters.

Through the years, however, I've grown quite fond of darker tales, such as "Beauty and the Beast", as Megan mentioned above. But I wouldn't say I necessarily have a 'favorite' story. Each tale is enchanting on its own merit. It's difficult to pinpoint one above the rest!

Thanks for the intriguing question. The nostalgia grips me.

  7. I love fairy tales and mythology! I don't know if I can pick just one story as my favorite. Although I like to try and find stories that aren't so commercialized (like Greek mythology). It's fun to hunt around and find that hidden treasure. Currently I have been reading about Native Americans and their folklore. Interesting indeed!

  9. When I was a little girl, my godmother gave me a beautiful copy of the sleeping beauty, it was all cut-out windows and opening doors. The briers around the castle were covered with pink roses, and tendrils had grown in through the windows and all around the sleeping beauty’s bed.
I lost my copy but managed to find another one late last year – I still love it. So the sleeping beauty is my favourite.
