Monday's Riddle: Sound Says Meaning...

Hello, Riddlers! Can you guess our theme this week? This type of play is my favorite. ; ) ~ F

Conjured meanings stir up thought; sound waves travel to be caught. Frequencies vary on passing tides; rough seas ahead, and you may hide. When a calmer wave does mellow, better to speak to a common fellow. How do we know what it is that we say? By the magic we've shared since our very first day. Morphology sticks to the roots of the tree, a part of the structure that tells it to thee. You've read this far, so I'll give you a clue, our knowledge expands when we learn one that's new.

What am I referring to? Stop by Wednesday for the answer!

I gave you a clue!

  1. You keep coming up with harder riddles. :) The only thing that came to mind with this one is speaking words.

  2. Yes I have no idea what this is. Not sure how you think of all these riddles.

  3. Hmm, possibly the hardest riddle yet.

Frequencies? I was thinking perhaps a radio play but that doesn't fit in with anything else. It is the word morphology that has me really stumped though. By the rest of the clue it sounds like its being used in its biological sense but that makes no sense. Neither does it make sense in the linguistic sense though. I give in.

  4. Perhaps learning how to read? When we learn that, our knowledge is expanded.

  8. This is tricky. The image makes me think of magic spells, but I’m sure that can’t be right – so Language/root words perhaps?

  12. I'm so confused with this one! I'm either going to guess language in general, or maybe music because it has sound to it and seeing as it does include language as well, we do learn from it too!

  13. The only thing I can think of it a foreign language, but that's a toughie!
