The DMS Wants to Know!
Monday's Riddle was a walk on the beach, and Lizzy's review of Olive’s Ocean by Kevin Henkes cast us into mysterious waters. Thursday on Top of the Heap we told you about a remote beach on a far away island, and Friday, Margo brought out The Real Mother Goose to share a few of her favorite rhymes. Today, we want to hear from you!
The DMS wants to know:
If you could spend a day on any beach in the world, which one would you choose?
We told you ours. Now, let's hear yours!

I want to go to a beach on The Maldives. The pictures look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMedeia- The Maldives would be nice! :) ~L
DeleteThe beach in Portugal. It's beautiful there, and they have pastries to die for...
ReplyDeleteF.T. Bradley- A beach with pastries. Yum and yeah! :) ~L
DeleteAny beach in New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteSounds great to me, Alex! :) ~L
DeleteMaui's beaches are nice.
ReplyDeleteI bet they are, Anna Maria! :) ~L
DeleteThat's hard. My first reaction is to pick a place by where I grew up on Long Island because I don't get to go there as often. But I should pick something new and exotic instead, right?
ReplyDeleteTheresa- No need to pick anywhere exotic. Sometimes the best places are the ones close to our heart. :) ~L
DeleteFor me port Arthur is the beach to be.
ReplyDeleteZulu land, Natal S/A
Interesting and unique pick, Terence! I love learning about new places. :) ~L
DeleteStone Harbor, NJ, which was definitely Stronger than the Storm. I have gone there every summer for years and years. I never get tired of it.
ReplyDeleteAlex- I love that you visit the same beach every year. What a nice tradition and I am sure you have beautiful memories. :) Glad it was stronger than Sandy! ~L
DeleteYay Terence - great choice! Mine is the Transkei Wild Coast (also South Africa) - Port St John's 3rd Beach in particular - now the Silaka Nature Reserve - I grew up there and it is paradise on earth!
ReplyDeleteSharon- I love your choices! They are all new to me- but they sound fabulous. :) ~L
DeleteBora-bora island! Definitely!! :-) Take care
ReplyDeletex
Old Kitty- Sounds great! :) ~L
DeleteThis is so easy...Popham Beach in Maine!
ReplyDeleteHow did I know you would pick Maine, Patty? Awesome choice! :) ~L
DeleteI love the beach off the Yucatan Peninsula. Water warm. Fish colorful. Then I'm also in love with the those beaches in Nicaragua. Nobody's ever there, so you have miles of beach to yourself. Santa Cruz in CA. is great, but that water is darned cold. I just wade and look at the waves there.
ReplyDeleteLee- Lots of great beaches! It is nice to look at the water- but it is cold in lots of CA! I haven't been to the other beaches you mentioned- but they do sound nice. :) ~L
DeleteThe nearest one to my house! Because I live near beaches!
ReplyDeleteNas- How lucky and wonderful! The beach is awesome! :) ~L
DeleteOh good question! And it's a toughie. I'd love to see the beaches near Nas in the comment above me since she lives in Fiji.
ReplyDeleteBut I'll pick Kailua Beach on Oahu cuz it's my fave U.S. beach so far.
Pk Hrezo- It would be awesome to go to Fiji! I still need to get to Oahu too! :) ~L
DeleteOcean City, New Jersey. We go there when we vacation at the beach. I love it there. But I would also like to see Lake Erie... :)
ReplyDeleteErik- I have never been to Ocean City- but I have heard it is awesome. Lake Erie would be cool too. :) ~L
DeleteNot a beach person but I do love the North Sea when its stormy and the waves are crashing off the rocks.
ReplyDeletePetty- Stormy beaches are so powerful! The beach has so many moods. :) ~L
DeleteWell. I would actually like to go back to the beach in Dubai :) The sand burned like hell, but the ocean had 40C degrees. Best warmth for me. <3
ReplyDeleteCarina- The beach in Dubai sounds pretty. I bet the sand was hot if the water was that temperature! :) ~L
DeleteI think I'd pick an Hawaiian beach. There are so many to choose from all over the world, but I love the warmth and the swaying waves of island beaches.
ReplyDeleteDonna- I have not been to Hawaii (yet) but I have seen pictures and the beaches look beautiful! I love the way you described them. :) ~L
