We're up to something a little different this week! Alex Cavanaugh is hosting the Genre Blogfest today, and we have decided that it would be fun to mix in our theme with this idea. SO... this is our tribute to our favorite genre, and the story that sets the bar as high as it can go...

(Book 3 in the Harry Potter Series)
Lizzy and I both agree that The Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the most magical books that we have ever read. It was the spark that set the whole series on fire! We were captivated by The Sorcerer's Stone, and loved the adventure in The Chamber of Secrets, BUT, The Prisoner of Azkaban was the book that unlocked the door to the magical world of Harry Potter, introducing new twists and turns and setting the stage for one of the most epic tales ever told- and we ate every bit of it up!
Monday's Riddle! Can you guess the theme? Why is The Prisoner of Azkaban such a timeless tale? Stick with us all this week, and we'll clue you in ; ) ~ F
On this line, you shall slide- should you need some time to bide. If you want to see what's not, try me on and take a shot. I can send you forward or bring you back; show you what it is you lack. I'm something small- a device at best, but indispensable when you're on a quest. Take a spin and you will see all there is or will ever be. How will you know where you land? Three turns is plenty under slight of hand.
What am I?
I already gave you a clue!
Here's a little mood music, which we also proclaim as a genre favorite! It would be on the the enchanted realm hits station : ) It really does capture the magic! * How interesting would it be if this type of music was the background theme to your day!
Here's the trailer for The Prisoner of Azkaban. Ah, this story is just chock full of magic! Enjoy : )

ReplyDeleteA time turner? LOL!
I'm probably one of very few who has never read a Harry Potter book...that's because all my grand-kids could read by the time they came out. I have watched some of the movies with the kids.
ReplyDeleteI think a time turner too. The Prisoner of Askaban is also my favorite HP - book and movie.
ReplyDeleteme too:) Time turner, love that book:D
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the others, a time turner.

I must confess I have not heard of the time turner - BUT - I just asked my son and he knows all about it! (He told me it was used to save Hagrid's bird so I'm learning something!)
ReplyDeleteTime Turner?
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter is an amazing series. :)
Awesome. Time turner. I love Harry Potter... what a wonderful magical world. Although I must say I think that Order of the Phoenix is my favorite book of the series... where Rowling really hits her stride. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE Harry Potter! Love! And I'm guessing a time turner! :)
ReplyDeleteA Shrubbery. :O
ReplyDeleteWell, I've no idea but everybody above me is guessing a *Time Turner*, which sounds amazing and I think I need one of those :D
I'm going with the time turner from Harry Potter too.
ReplyDeleteeveryone of my kids will know...I'll ask them.
ReplyDeletethe blogfest seems fun!
I've only watched Harry Potter. A few times when it comes to the Prisoner of Azkaban, so I wouldn't have the foggiest idea.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy the movies though. ^_^
Yay for a fellow Harry Potter fan! PoA is one of my favourites too!
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that your favorite genre is Harry Potter...lol, sure why not have his own genre now, there sure are enough fans out there. One of these days I will get around to seeing those movies. I never made it past the first book, but my children adore him :)
ReplyDeleteA great series, I thought the 'children's' covers were so much nicer and couldn't understand why adults were embarrassed to be seen reading them - I know I wasn't.
ReplyDeleteI love this series, but can't remember the name of the object for sure. So I'll go with Time Turner too (since I read the above comments) LOL!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was "The Chamber of Secrets" :)
Yes on the time turner! So fun! And I loved the Prisoner of Azkaban book. In fact, I think it's my sister's favorite of all of them, and it's the first one she bought for my daughter. :0)
ReplyDeleteOkay,
ReplyDeleteWe must be kindred souls. FIRST, I am dropping in for the blog hop... When I saw my ALL TIME FAVORITE HP book I knew I found a friend. BY far the best in the series.
LOVE your riddle ...
So wonderful to meet another INSANE HP fan! And of course I had to follow you.
Azkaban is my favorite one, too!
ReplyDeleteOh my...is it that thing that Harry and the headmaster used to go back in time...but it wasn't called a time turner...or was it?
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the entire series several times myself, I've started reading The Philosopher's Stone to my son - we've just read Chapter 3 today! I couldn't possibly say which was my favourite though.
ReplyDeleteThe Prisoner of Azkaban is in my top fav HP books. It brought in a lot of new ideas and characters.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Harry Potter books, however I wasn't as big fan as you.
ReplyDeleteI've just begun rediscovering Harry Potter with my son. We read the book together and then watch the film. We're reading number 3 now!
