This week, we have been chatting it up about the wonders and magic of gardens.
Monday's Riddle sprouted the seeds of our imagination, and we all grew a little with my mom's review of
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Lizzy and I told you about two of our favorite natural snacks on
Top of the Heap. My little sister, Margo, even got involved with her choice of the visually engaging children's book
Grandma Says...Dream Green by Nancy-Jo Funaro. And, today, on this lovely (
actually sparkling in New England) Saturday,
we want to hear from all of you!
The DMS wants to know: What is your favorite thing about nature's amazing bounty?
(
ie. gardening, shopping at a local, fresh market, picking flowers, spending time at the beach (for me- eating clams :) etc...)
We told you ours, now let's hear yours!
Sitting at the beach in the late afternoon, waiting for the sun to set over the water, listening to the waves crashing on the shore, while reading a great book!! One of my favorite things!!

DeleteWhen I go to work every morning, just as I crest a large hill coming into London I'm faced with the sun rising over the horizon. I'd love to take a photo but that probably wouldn't be a good idea at sixty on my motorbike, but at least I can enjoy it's beauty.

DeleteI love the beach. Funny thing is, I hate large bodies of water. If I am on a bridge or a boat, I totally freak! I won't even consider going on a cruise. But, I love looking at the ocean and walking the beach. I hope to live somewhere with a water view someday. Just don't stick in said water...eek!

DeleteDMS, thanks for stopping by my blog. Your question is interesting because I live in the desert. I would never pick a flower and we have no clams.LOL My nature's bounty is the view of dry but gorgeous mountains, stars in the sparkling, very dark sky and creatures like roadrunners, rabbits, ladybugs and butterflies.

DeleteFor me it has to be the changing colours of the leaves, I love it when they turn from green to that lovely russet colour.

DeleteMy favorite thing about summer is fresh fruits and vegetables! We used to have a farmer's market just outside of the store that I manage, and I used to load up every Friday. Now I have to locate another one since that one closed. I LOVE fresh summer veggies! Oh, and the beach, and clams, and...and...and...

DeleteI love staring at the clouds. To me, nothing is more beautiful than a blue sky with big puffy white clouds. I can watch them change form for hours.

ReplyDeleteI love the bright sunshine and the variances in color of Mother Earth's plants. I'm particularly fond of sunflowers, how the flower turns to face the sun every day.
ReplyDeleteDonna- I could look at plants all day long. They change a little every day and in different lights. Sunflowers always amaze me! ~F
