Hello, Riddlers! Can you guess our theme this week? They look like magical creatures and sing a haunted tune. ; ) ~ F
As dusk settles on a northern lake, hear the cries of fowl heart break. Ruby-eyed sailors, paired to match, dive in deep for the evening catch. Carrying on, they swim away, a crazy call made at the end of the day.
What am I referring to? Stop by Wednesday for the answer
I gave you a clue!
Well, I'm afraid I don't know my birds very well. A lark?
ReplyDeleteUmm quote the raven forever more? Don't know birds well either.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with the loon. I know they have a mournful cry, however I don't know if their eyes are red.
ReplyDeleteHi Jess - I'm no good at this ... the loon sounds a good bet - simply as it's a loony bird ... but I'll be back to see .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteAt first I was thinking of a raven or crow, but seeing as these are lake birds it seems like I'll go with others guess of a loon.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with loon only because of the clue of crazy call.
ReplyDeletebetty
I have no idea with this one, I am just going along with everyone else here and say loon xox
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely no clue unless it's a loon?
ReplyDeleteI was going to say hawks, but their eyes aren't ruby colored. So I'm going with the group and saying it's loons.
ReplyDeleteGoing with everyone else and saying loons, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure a bird would be described as a fowl, so maybe a duck, Mallard or Guineafowl? Not really sure.
ReplyDeleteI am going all Loonie...this bird is on our dollar coin which we call a loonie. Sorry I guess i am going overboard but it is The look:)
ReplyDeleteI don't know birds enough to know which one, but it's a bird.
ReplyDeleteAlso a loon. A cormorant would be cool, but I think it is a loon.
ReplyDeleteSome type of bird, but I'm not sure which one.
ReplyDeleteAre you doing a Canadian theme, eh? It does seem like the loon, of which I'm most familiar with. Yes, thank you for such a fowl post!
ReplyDeleteGary :)
Must be a loon :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea.
ReplyDeletehaha...going with the general consensus...loon it is!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of a siren but perhaps not.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure either, but a loon makes sense (to my sometimes feathered brain, anyway! lol). Good riddle!
ReplyDeleteA loon? I've heard their call is haunting, though I've never heard one myself.
ReplyDeleteI think is a crow .Look terrorific !
ReplyDeleteI think is a crow .Look terrorific !
ReplyDeleteLooks like a crow, but I only know common birds.
ReplyDeleteit's some kind of nasty bird, indeed
ReplyDeleteThe picture doors look loon-y to me.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a loon, too. Can't wait to see if we are right! Thanks for sharing this with your followers.
ReplyDeleteA loon! We've got those in Vermont - so lovely.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a crow. Maybe?
