  2. *sigh* I wish I had an indie on Long Island. The only one here only does celeb signings. I miss my old indie from when I was a kid. they closed down when I Was about 10 or so and it broke my heart!

  14. What great pictures! The only bookstore I have by me is BAM. The staff is amazing there. I love them. I wish we had more locally owned bookstores, though.

  15. So glad you're supporting the indies. At my recent SCBWI conference, I volunteered to help set up the bookstore and got to work alongside those magnificent women. They are SO much fun...and they love books! You don't really see that enthusiasm from chain bookstore workers.

  19. Hello DMS. Books and bookshops! I wanted to lick this post! What a generous offer! I have a flourishing bookstore/cafe near me, where I spend so much time drinking coffee, writing, and buying great books. :-)

  22. Those are such quaint looking book stores! Unfortunately, there aren't many like them left. The big stores like Barnes and Noble have put them out of business.
