Answer to Monday's Riddle: You're Invited! Mwahahaha...

Excellent guessing, Riddlers! This week we're throwing a Halloween party, and you're all invited. In the spirit of All Hallow's Read, we'll be sprinkling in stories that are sure to give you a thrill. Stop by for the treats and enjoy the tricks! See you all around the book block. ; ) ~ F

Tis' the season for a monsters' ball. Ghouls and witches, come one, come all! We invite you in as our honored guest, hang your cloak by the treasure chest. Bubbling drinks and food galore, candy and apples at the core. The music's creepy, and we'll tell about ghosts. Goblins raise glasses and cheers a toast. The decor is festive, and we'll dance through the night, howling and swinging to the moon's delight. When the morning arises, we're people again, but next year we'll dress up to do it again.

What am I referring to? Answer: A Halloween Party!

Here's a spooky short to get you in the mood...

The Widow

A dreary day in late fall
A man glides briskly down a hall

He holds a candle, flickering fast
Wolves in shadows are eerily cast

In the attic, a widow sings
About the wind the night air brings

Pale fingers touch her face
Whispering secrets through tattered lace

Darning a blanket from the past
Her sanity flew away so fast

A shawl of time wrapped around a web
That creeps and crawls inside her head

Time to sleep
She slips away

She waits and waits for another day
