Blizz Richards is a yeti, and yetis do not exist. Well, according to some people anyway. Blizz is a cryptid, which is a creature that has been suggested, however hasn't been discovered by the scientific community. Cryptids are sworn to keep their whereabouts a secret to preserve the magic of myth. Even though Blizz has to stay in hiding, he's still pretty happy. He's got a cool pad, and he's able to keep up with his other cryptid friends. They used to have all sorts of fun at family reunions, but the last time they got together a picture was taken of his cousin, Brian, and he had to disappear for fear that the world would uncover the mystery. Blizz's greatest enemy is the famous cryptozoologist, George Vanquist. He ceaselessly hunts down cryptids in order to dispel the lore, making himself an incredible nuisence to Blizz and his gang. When Blizz receives an invitation to a family reunion, he's excited to go, but should he? Will George Vanquist ruin everything and blow their cover? What will happen if pictures of the cryptid reunion are released to the world? Where did Brian go? You will have to read this fun book to find out!

Meet the Bigfeet by Kevin Sherry is a unique book! I enjoyed this creatively illustrated story. Blizz is a cool yeti, and it was interesting to find about his home and who his friends are. The scenes pulled me right into the story, and I found myself rescanning the pictures to take in the many interesting details. George Vanquist's attempts to crash the reunion made me nervous, and I was happy when his under appreciated sidekick, Noodles, made the right choice. I feel much more informed about cryptids, and I'm sure they exist! I would recommend this book to readers in grade three and up or anyone who loves great illustrations that express the story along with the words.
