I'm so excited to bring you Margo's children's book choice for today! She has decided to tell us about one of her new favorite stories: Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen. This story has wonderful illustrations, but Margo especially loves the sounds that go with the story. You should hear her roar like a lion!
In this delightful book a lion gets into the library, and the staff doesn’t know what to do. He gets mad when story time is over and breaks a rule by roaring loudly. It's decided if the lion behaves then he can come for story hour again. The lion visits the library all the time and is helpful in every way possible. The librarian, Mrs. Merriweather, becomes quite fond of the library lion. When a problem arises and the lion breaks one of the rules, he thinks he won’t be allowed back. This part makes Margo a little sad, but she enjoys the pictures that go with it. Margo, who knows how to get into all kinds of trouble, loves the lessons about the library and the fact that sometimes rules need to be broken!
This is an enchanting story and a great way to
learn about one of my family’s favorite places, the library. I would recommend
this book to kids and book lovers of all ages. ~ F

DeleteWhat a delightful story and Margo did a fantastic job of reading it. I didn't expect I would listen to it all but I did and enjoyed feeling like a kid again. The illustrations are great also and the point the story makes is a good one. Great post!

DeleteEnchanting is indeed the word. I hope they keep libraries open. A bit of fight keeping them open in England. Maybe we need a lion to sort it out.

DeleteYou know I just saw this reading done on YouTube? It's funny that you ended up posting this when you did. It's such a great story that 've been meaning to look into for a while. I really like the message that sometimes rules need to be broken for the greater good.
