I'm a trickster, who's known very well. A keeper of magic with stories to tell. I've a few friends, though none who I trust. For instance, a tiger who'd turn me to dust. But, I'm not upset, nor do I tarry- even though he's big, and certainly scary. You see, I have my words, and I know that they're clever. They help me get though any endeavor. Weaving my web, I scuttle 'cross land, using my powers and quick slight of hand. Leaving behind this lingering line; you'll get yours, and I'll take mine.

My father has a thing in his yard. The more you feed it the hungrier it gets. What am I?

ReplyDeleteI love riddles! I grew up with African folktales so Anansi is one of my favorites. Trickster charaters in general are my favorites. As for the riddle...? My guess is a lawn or some sort of plant. Or maybe a fire? Dunno...

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what it could be in the yard, but if it were in the house, I'd say a bowl of yeast or a jar of the "ginger bug" used to make homemade sodas and ales. =)
Great riddle! I get icky about spiders but the illustrated one is really pretty.
