Will the Ghost of Fossil Glen Be Set Free?

As sixth grader Allie Nichols is dangling from a cliff high above the ground a strange calming voice speaks to her and helps to save her life. When she shares her ghostly experience with her friends, Pam and Karen, they turn on her claiming that Allie is just making up stories. Luckily, her old friend Dub knows she can’t be lying, and he's interested in what she has to say. It isn’t long before Allie realizes that something strange is definitely going on. She begins to hear the ghost of Lucy, a young girl who died in the glen four years ago, and she even dreams of Lucy’s death. When more clues are revealed it becomes clear that Allie’s own life is in jeopardy. Will Allie and Dub be able to find out who killed Lucy? Will they be able to get out of a dangerous situation alive? Will there be enough evidence for the murderer to be put behind bars? Read this nail biting mystery to find out about friendship, ghosts, trust, and the power of communication.

I loved the style that Cynthia DeFelice used to write The Ghost of Fossil Glen. Allie and Dub have such real personalities, and I could relate to both of them in different ways. I enjoyed the way the two friends worked on the mystery, and I was on the edge of my seat as the story developed. This book starts with excitement, and the pace doesn’t slow throughout the book. I recommend this book to anyone from third grade through eighth grade. I also think adults and older kids will be captivated by this page turner. Mystery lovers will be thrilled with this unique story and will be happy to learn that this is the first book in the Ghost Mysteries series. I can’t wait to read them all!  Don't miss out- grab your copy today!

Has anyone else read The Ghost of Fossil Glen? Or have you read another book by Cynthia DeFelice? We would love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Reading!

  2. I haven't read this or any of Cynthia Felice's but I like the sound of this mystery. Gotta love an old friend who trusts and believes what you say. I'd be curious about what had happened to poor, young Lucy, too.

  8. A paranormal murder mystery written to entice a youngster to read sounds like a winner to me. Children love the science fiction genre so they should like this one also. Very intriguing!
