The DMS Wants to Know!
You guys dug up the right answer on Monday's Riddle, unearthing the topic of buried treasure. Lizzy then reviewed the new middle grade novel, Misfortune Cookie by Sara Linton, where a young girl receives an unfortunate message and is convinced that she has been cursed with bad luck. It's a hair raising archeological mystery that keeps you guessing from beginning to end. For Top of the Heap we shared two of our favorite finds and today, we want to hear from you! ~ F
The DMS wants to know:
What archeological artifact do you find to be absolutely fascinating?
We told you ours, now let's hear yours!

Hmmm...dinosaur bones would totally fascinate me!
ReplyDeletePatty- I agree with you! It would be so cool to uncover dinosaur bones. :) ~F
DeleteThe crystal skull...all the legends surrounding it are fascinating!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, That was almost my pick- but the Dead Sea Scrolls won- I think the crystal skulls are absolutely amazing! ~ F
DeleteThat is suh a hard choice for me!! King Tut used to be a major fascination for me. My big thing still is anything medieval. I love all that stuff!!
ReplyDeleteHi Shauna, I actually feel more comfortable in life when I'm surrounded by Medieval stuff, and I'm a big fan of the renaissance fair in Tuxedo NY. It's a really authentic, fun trip. You can watch a queen play a game of human chess game, listen to Robin Hood and his merry men tell their tale, then walk to the other side of the woods and enjoy a good joust. It's a great time! ~ F
DeleteI would have picked the Dead Sea Scrolls too. Silly as this sounds, I love finding fossils and arrowheads. I think someday there'll be a major find in one of these that will change the way we look at history.
ReplyDeleteDonna- That doesn't sound silly at all! I agree with you that there will be a major find that changes the way we look at history. I love things like that! ~L
DeleteAnything but mummified bodies. LOL
ReplyDeleteKelly- I can understand that! :) ~L
DeleteWritings & stationery from the Medieval times.
ReplyDeleteClaudine- So cool! I love everything from Medieval times. ~F
DeleteI'm mildly obsessed with Sumer, Ancient Mesopotamia. Fascinates me beyond belief. Thanks for stopping by, Fairday. It's great to meet you. Returned the follow. My gmail is hated for some reason, so I had to resort to following via Twitter. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteM Pax- Thanks for stopping by our blog! Ancient Mesopotamia is amazing. So much to think about! :) ~F
DeleteWithout doubt the dead sea scrolls. I've enjoyed all your posts this week.
ReplyDeleteBarbara- We are so happy that you enjoyed the posts this week. It was a fun theme to work around. ~F
DeleteNew research into how the Egyptians were mummified always fascinates me. I can remember feeling all yukky when as a girl I heard how the brain was removed via the nostrils of the dead - something archeologists are now questioning.
ReplyDeletePetty- Mummification is an interesting process. I think because it seems so gross it sticks in everyone's mind. I love that as archeologists learn more they revisit their beliefs about what happened. ~F
DeleteI think the find of the first human remains is fascinating. I think it was in Egypt, but I am not sure. It is so cool to think about the people that lived long ago.
ReplyDeleteTrey- Finding the first human remains was a big dig! Imagine what that felt like? I like to think about the way that early humans were similar to me and different. ~F
DeleteI find this whole subject fascinating. I love the History Channel. I like dinosaurs a lot- so I would say anything that has to do with that.
ReplyDeleteFlex- The History Channel rocks! Dinousaur bones are so cool. I love to see reconstructed dinousaurs! ~F
