I was hoping to do one post for May and one for June, but life had other plans. So, like last time, I will be sharing pictures from my pond over the last two months. Although May and June proved to be very busy months, I did find moments to sit outside and soak up the sights, sounds, and smells of Spring and early Summer. Of course, much of Mother Nature needs to be absorbed in person and I just wasn't fast enough to catch many of the visitors to the pond and yard. Maybe next time!
Every day I see the pond and surrounding area look so different depending on the light and shadows. It is beautiful and amazing. I can see why Monet created so many paintings of his water garden. The every changing views are good for the soul!
Hi DMS - what a stunning place to live ... gorgeous to be able to get out and spend time in the garden (or perhaps yard) ... it looks amazing - so restful - lovely magnolia. I'm so pleased you used the word 'brook' - it was taken out of a children's dictionary 8 years ago along with some other 'common to me' words! I wrote it up in February 2015 ... I'd love to join you by the pond and ponder words! Happy Fourth of July and here's to many more - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThank you! I do love to ponder by the pond and would love to have you over for a chat and some tea. :) I don't know why brook would get taken out of a children's dictionary! Seems crazy to me. But- I do love listening to my brook. :) Happy summer to you!
DeleteSimply beautiful. Even on screen I could feel my shoulder relax. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteEC- I am glad even the pictures of the pond can be soothing. I do feel lucky to have such a place right in my yard. :)

It is! I especially enjoy having a cup of coffee and taking in the scenery. :)
DeleteWow, lovely photos. And what an awesome place to live.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! There is something so satisfying about a garden and its many changes. We don't have a personal garden here in Portugal, since we are in an apartment building. But Braga is a "garden city". Gardens everywhere. And I so agree with your comment about why Monet loved his garden and painted it in such different lightings. (Monet is a favorite painter of mine and also of my husband.)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth- How wonderful that you are in a garden city with gardens everywhere. So good for the soul! Monet has always been a favorite of mine. His art is so beautiful. Glad to hear you and your husband are fans as well!
DeleteSo much beauty. I'd love to live somewhere where I can go for walks around the garden and ponds. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNas- It is nice to be able to walk to the pond and enjoy nature. :)
