Answer to Monday's Riddle: Member of the Troop...

Excellent guessing, Riddlers! This week we're going bananas. Lizzy's review will tell us about a very special gorilla, and Friday we'll be chatting with Katherine Applegate, so be sure to check back! See you all around the book block. ; ) ~ F

I'm alive, and just like you. My face is different, and my body too. Inside I'm the same, almost 99%; I thrive in the wild, not where I'm sent. I come from Africa's high and low; my kin stays together wherever we go. The males branch out to seek their own group, but the rest stay together, safe in our troop. I like to keep clean and bond when I groom, my mates talk and play in nature's full room. I'm related to humans by ancestral tie, but they don't see truth, they only ask why. Keeping me separate as the star of a show, leading me on or making me go, chaining me up, they hurt me so, their behavior has been exceedingly low. My wish is for them to hear this and know, now is the time to let us all go. To be free in the world and have peace of mind, this is what I want for my kind.

What am I? Answer: Gorilla

  8. I love stories about gorillas. Terrifying to look at because they're so huge, but gentle creatures unless provoked.
