  1. I remember reading about this. As a girl I sent a message in a bottle but never got a reply - perhaps in another 98 years I will. I did however find a balloon with a name and address written on it but once again never got a reply when I wrote to them.

That is so cool that you found a balloon- but I can't believe you didn't get a reply when you wrote to them. Thanks for sharing! ~L

  4. No I have never discovered a message in a bottle probably because I don't live near the ocean. What a neat thing to find though an almost hundred year message! What did it say?

    1. Heidi- It would be awesome to find a message in a bottle. I guess it is possible in a lake or river, too. The message seemed to say to record where and when the bottle was found and that a reward would be given- a sixpence. :) ~L

  5. I have never found a message in a bottle but I have found lots of green and blue bottle glass. We used to spend summers near Lake Erie and searched for bottle glass daily!

    1. Carina- I guess living at the top of Norway could make it hard to find a message in a bottle- but you never know. It would be awesome if you found one sometime!

I am always amazed at what you get in your mailbox! Jess
