Margo's Musings!

Margo and I are excited to share a wonderful book with you that we read this past week. Martin's Big Words written by Doreen Rappaport and illustrated by Bryan Collier is a treasure. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s powerful message is masterfully crafted in this intricate collage of our collective history. The simple words and complex illustrations set the scene in time, and the story resonates within us all. This beautiful children's picture book captures it perfectly! Happy Reading : )  ~ F & M

*The DMS was lucky enough to get to meet the illustrator, Bryan Collier at the 2012 UCONN Children's Book Fair

  4. What do I wish for the world? The world is a big mess what can I wish for but for everything. No hungry kids going to bed without food, people all over the world being able to get the basics of life - food, water, shelter, education, medicine. I wish there was an invention that would help us all avoid so much pollution. I wish people would accept others for who they are. I wish for no woman to ever have to be scared walking alone at night. I wish there was peace and happiness all over the world.

  7. Love the quote. It reminds me of a similar one: Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only Light can. Excellent choice of book!

What I wish for the world: more glowing brightness, for Kindness to spread, for Honesty to be recognized and Courage to prevail.
